Antiquity Project: Places: New York

Gigantic Terminal Station for the Hudson River Tunnel At Cortland St., New York. The trains from Jersey City will enter Manhattan by the tube shown in the foreground. The single track will diverge into five tracks, which will swing to the left and enter a six-platform station below the large building shown in the background. This building, 22 stories high, will be nearly three times larger than any existing office building, and will house 20,000 people. Trains return to Jersey City by the tunnel shown at the left of building.
